Is METSI Care Insurance? No. METSI Care is a Direct Primary Care doctor’s office where we can take care of 80-90% of our patient’s needs. For catastrophic events, we still recommend you have some sort of coverage like a high deductible insurance plan or health share plan for emergencies, hospitalizations, specialists, and any other care that is performed outside of our office.

What is Direct Primary Care (DPC)?DPC is a new model of healthcare where patients become the priority again like it used to be instead of the corporate greed of hospitals and insurance companies. Think of DPC like a Netflix subscription where you have access to unlimited visits (via in-person, video or telephone) with your own personal private doctor for one low monthly fee. It’s like having a doctor in your own family that focuses on putting the patents first and restoring the patient-doctor relationship.
-

-
Can I come to METSI Care if I have Medical Insurance?Yes. Although we do not bill insurance for your visits, you can still use your health insurance for care provided outside of our office including labs, imaging, medications, hospitalizations, specialists, etc. Our patients with insurance, especially those with high deductible plans, often save money because they do not have to worry about paying expensive co-pays, deductibles, or surprise bills.
-
Do I still need insurance? We recommend that all our patients have some form of catastrophic health insurance or health share plan which would cover you in the case of a heart attack, stroke, cancer care or other serious health issue. What we offer at METSI Care is personalized, quality and convenient health care, with an emphasis on CARE. We can take care of 80 - 90% of our patient’s health care needs without referring out to specialists. We help provide peace of mind knowing you have your own private doctor that provide hassle free convenient access. However, having health insurance does not equal having good high quality healthcare. Now, with most insurance plans having high deductibles in the $4000-$10,000 range, patients are paying everything out of pocket anyways. Insurance usually doesn’t kick in until they hit their deductible which is usually after major medical event which your METSI doctor is working to keep you healthy! A DPC membership allows patients to save money on healthcare and have a better relationship with their physician regardless of their insurance plan. So if your plan doesn’t cover much, come to our practice to save on your out of pocket costs. If your plan covers everything, come to our practice to have longer visits and more time to work through your health concerns. If you’re healthy, never go to the doctor, and have a fully paid for plan from your employer, we can see you the same day or next day which is usually not available through insurance.
-
What are health shares?Health shares are similar to insurance but usually cost much less per month. If you are interested in learning more, we recommend you go to the websites of health share plans to get more information. Some companies our patients have used are Zion Health Share, Sedera, and Samaritan Ministries paired with their METSI membership.
-
Do I need Insurance to be seen at METSI Care? No. Whether you have insurance or not, Dr. Garrick is happy to see you! He will never bill your insurance to be seen or for procedures or charge you co-pays or deductibles. His monthly or yearly fees covers all visits (in person and virtual). Although he does not provide emergency services, hospital admission or surgical procedures, Dr. Garrick’s direct/concierge primary care model is meant to limit hospitalizations and help patients with 80-90% of their needs. Patients can still use their insurance for labs, imaging, and medications. Being part of a DPC practice is comparable to having good healthcare, but having good insurance is not equivalent to having good healthcare.

How can METSI help my small business? In the current system, businesses that provide health insurance are struggling to stay profitable due to rising insurance premiums. With the combination of direct primary care and a self-funded insurance plan, businesses can save enormous amounts of money. The way the combination works is really quite beautiful. With the employees getting the majority of their healthcare needs taken care of without filing an insurance claim, this leaves a large amount of the claim pool, from the self-funded plan, leftover at the end of the year. A percentage of the money goes back to the business to use as it would like. Businesses using this model nationwide have been paid between 25-50% of their claim pool back, on top of saving money on a monthly basis. We can help your business save money that it needs to develop a new product or hire a much needed employee. All the while, your employees will be receiving fantastic care which can help decrease sick days. With our increased accessibility they will not have to waste half to a full day waiting at the doctor; we can get them in with virtually no wait time. Click here for business memberships >

What if I decide to cancel my membership? We understand that your needs may change, and we want to help you through whatever transitions you're making. If you need to cancel, we require a 30 day notice prior to your next bill. To allow your doctor to have time to get to know you and address your health care needs we require a 6 month minimum of membership. Early terminations will incur a $250 fee and you will not be eligible to re-enroll in the future.
